Happy 2008! A new year means a fresh start and a new chance to improve on those things that need improving on. I'm not a resolutions person really. I used to be but I find that for me resolutions set up expectations that I usually don't follow through with which leaves me feeling like a dejected failure. Yeah, I don't like feeling like that *lol*
I do appreciate what the new year represents though and try to use it as a springboard toward improvement in all areas of life. Today I spent the day cleaning and getting rid of junk. We have so much junk and so much stuff that we just don't need. I cleaned out an entire dresser of junk today. So now we have more room for clothes which is always good. I'm really going to start getting rid of junk and getting our place looking pretty and like home. Our home just doesn't reflect our personalities in any way (well except the lazy part) and I really want to change that.
I found this photo from one of my very favorite blogs The Black Apple and it just speaks to me. I love looking at her pictures and I just want to have her cute little apartment. This style is just so "me". I love the quirky antiques and fun colors in her home. So this is my project for the year and I hope to achieve it. Though I have a long way to go and limited funds so... I'll do my best :)
Anyway, I haven't shared my Christmas pictures yet I realize. I don't have many good ones and I don't think I'll ever get used to my camera which is really annoying. I spent so much money on my camera and I just can't use it properly, but whatever. So here are the pictures from Christmas Eve and morning.
And finally a picture of Marah in the tub :)
So now I have to go to the store to pick up some stuff for tomorrow. Be happy and stuff!
dude i thought that first picture was your living room, i thought WOW! thats AMAZING! that would be sweet if you could do something like with your apartment. shouldnt take too much, just some good deals at garage sales. might take some time, but its better that way right? feels more like an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteyour pictures came out good sister! the key for me to get comfortable with that G6 was just taking pictures all the time with it. ALL THE TIME. And when you do so, experiment as much as possible. Youll start to remember what settings work best for what types of light. Go through the book that came with it. It actually explains a lot. That way when it comes time to take pictures of events you want to remember, it will just come naturally. Hey we both spent a lot of money on that camera. I lost mine in Korea. Now I use some cheapo powershot. Maybe 150 bucks?
oh well
Funny, I thought that was your apartment at first, too. I want to see your place when you get a room done. I bet it will be even cuter. Thanks for the photos! The one of Jenna with the blender box is hilarious. Love you!
ReplyDeleteof course they know that. someone had to carry on the name after you left. i was the only one available. mom and dad wouldnt give up their titles.
